Who said you can't build shoes in America? Apparently, everyone. Call them crazy, but at KEEN they didn't buy this answer. Instead, in 2010, they went and bought a bunch of machines and started building shoes in Portland, OR. KEEN's American Built shoes are assembled with pride and tireless attention to fit, quality, and comfort.
KEEN does more than produce high-quality footwear. Since 2003 KEEN has donated more than $15 million to non-profit organizations and causes that align with their mission to conserve the places they live, work and play.
At KEEN's Portland, OR factory they started a project to achieve zero waste and simultaneously benefit local non-profits. Before they started this project, approximately 59 percent of the factory’s waste was being diverted from the landfill. After teaming-up with the Onramp Institute, more than 81 percent of the factory’s waste is being recycled or repurposed.
