A gusset is a diamond-shaped piece of denim sewn into the crotch area of most of our All American brand of jeans. The gusset eliminates 4 seams coming together in one spot, creating freedom of movement and a more comfortable wearing experience. A gusset also helps disperse stress around the crotch, making the jeans more durable and tasks like crouching easier.

The gusset makes pants more comfortable to wear even while walking, squatting, climbing, or horse riding. Non-gusseted jeans can sometimes hinder you from participating in some adventure activities, but with gusseted jeans, you can do pretty much anything. It allows for extra room in the crotch region.

Another good reason why gussets are sewn in pants is for durability. Most pants tend to wear out around the crotch, with limited movement on the material. The gusset allows for extra movement near the crotch, helping avoid the strain in that area.

The sewing of the diamond-shaped fabric eliminates the knot formed when four different seams come together. The gusset blends well with the pants fabric, making it hard to see unless taken off.

Importance of Gussets
