“Houston,Tranquility, Base Here, The Eagle has landed” were the words of Neil Armstrong onJuly 20, 1969 when Apollo 11 landed him and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, Jr. on earth`s moon. The United States mission is considered to be one of the most influential moments in American history. Apollo 11 was launched from the Kennedy SpaceCenter in Merritt Island, Florida on July 16th and was the 5thmanned mission and 3rd lunar mission of NASA`s Apollo program. The crew was made up of Neil Armstrong as Commander, Edwin Aldrin as Lunar Module Pilot, and Michael Collins as Command Module Pilot. Armstrong, along with Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquility and became the first humans to walk on the Moon on July 21, 1969. With the words, “That`s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Armstrong stepped his first steps on the moon alongside Aldrin, sealing a major accomplishment for the United States. The life lesson that we would like to share with you in relating to the idea of sending someone to the moon is that anything is possible. As a lesson to all, the United States and NASA had proven that the impossible is possible in sending someone to the moon. So in looking back at a monumental part of American History, the lesson is as follows… You can do anything as long as you put your mind to it, along with your heart and soul. AND IF YOU FAIL? TRY, TRY, AGAIN!!!
