Pretty darn good
I bought one pair of these and they are pretty nice. I haven't noticed any problem with the waistband at all. However, the printing on the washing instruction tag came off in the first wsshing!!! The VIP label on the front is now blank as well. But they feel good. I'm considering getting more but am undecided.
For the slimmer gent...
These boxer briefs are made of very nice lightweight material. Workmanship appears to be very good. However, the waistband is not substantial or tight enough for my type of body (I am about 30 lbs. overweight). The boxers tend to slide down inside my outer pants and creates an uncomfortable band across the middle of my rear end. Think twice about these if you have a "belly".
Comfortable and American Made!
I did not have any problem with the waist band as others have stated. I wear an undershirt though and the waistband does not contact my skin directly. If one feels that the waist band is scratchy, one can wear an undershirt and tuck the undershirt under the waistband preventing it from directly contacting the skin?? As far as other reviewers references to price points and pricing: my other similar boxers from Duluth Trading are in the same price category and similar quality. However, those are imports. I prefer to buy American made. I can get a two pack of 2xl Jockey cotton boxers from a big and tall site for $27, but, again, those are foreign made and help no one working in the USA directly.
High Quality Waistband
I would like to start with one particular observation. Other reviewers have mentioned the "scratchy" waistband. This is an anti-roll waistband, a material which is not as soft as less robust materials. The high quality waistband used in these briefs should be considered a selling point, not a detraction. Another issue raised by some, is the price. Actually, compared to the name brand briefs of this type, the pricing is not really out of line. That said, I am generally satisfied with the second-tier brands, which offer products of similar quality for $12 - $15. But I can't name one of them which has an anti-roll waistband. So, to be honest, I would be more likely to re-buy at a slightly lower price point, or if a discount was offered on a three-pack. I am perfectly happy with the fit, support, and comfort offered. They are fully what I would expect from this type of brief.
First, I wish All American would come out with a line of true boxers as opposed to boxer briefs. That said, they are very comfortable from the waist down. That's where it ends, though. The waistband is itchy/scratchy, and after one wash it was coming apart where it's sewn together. Not worth $19, and I would return them if I could.
Better USA Made alternatives
The waist band is scratchy and uncomfortable. Also, these do run big. Usually wear medium and the small is kinda long in that the material can bunch up if you don't pull briefs up enough. Just not worth the cost versus. My favorite usa made underwear are Flint & Tinder.
Rough waist band
I was very happy to see All American come out with underwear. I have not been able to find American made underwear anywhere else. I bought a pair to try and immediately didn't like the waist band. The material is rough and uncomfortable. The rest of the material is terrific as is the fit. I will not be buying another pair though unless the waist band is revised to be softer.
Fit and Feel Great but...
I've had these boxer briefs for a few weeks now and they fit and feel great. Unfortunately after only washing them 3 times since I first received them I have noticed holes starting to form in the fabric where the 'accent' stitching is. They're the correct size as per the sizing chart so I don't know why this is happening.
Comfortable and different
I've always admired the creativity and innovation of All American Clothing. This time is no exception. The new boxer briefs are terrific and very comfortable. There is no discomfort in the "important part." The material is different and everything can breathe. My only concern is the cost. A pair of underwear for almost $20 will not attract many customers to this new product. All the jeans, shirts, jackets, etc I think are priced well considering the quality. I am a loyal customer and would not like to see a product become discontinued due to lack of sales. In order to reach a broader audience, I would try to get the price down. Maybe R&D was costly, I don't know. I hope these are a hit.
Didn't want to spend this kind of money for underwear but I did and four pairs. It was the best investment I ever made. I'm a union steamfitter 449 and work out in the heat and cold. I've NEVER felt this kind of comfort in underwear in my life and I'm 48. I just bought four more and will continue to buy when I need more. BEST EVER ! ! ! ! ! !
