Winning a medal not only brings a tremendous amount of pride for the athletes and the country they represent, it also provides a nice little income.  The Olympic Committee pays American medal winners $25,000 for gold, $15,000 for silver, and $10,000 for bronze medals.

Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, was selected as Team USA’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games. Being chosen as Team USA’s flag bearer is a huge honor and very humbling.

In a time where it can feel like our nation is torn, the Olympics always bring a sense of unity and pride in this amazing country we reside in. God Bless America and all the freedoms we enjoy on this beautiful soil and good luck to all the athletes representing the USA in Rio!
