16 Trillion Reasons Why YOU Should Buy American!

The Treasury Department said Tuesday that the national debt has topped $16 trillion. Each American citizen`s share of the national debt averages out to more than $50,000 worth of red ink. This is due to factors like federal spending, outsourcing, and higher taxes–just to name a few.

The news was announced yesterday with an emphasis on the current Presidential election. The current candidates have already begun to use the news of the national debt as a key point in political ads, debates, and messaging. Many will use the debt as a key issue in helping to make a decision on whom to vote for. This is all important because it is the major issue our country faces today.

Every American citizen should take notice of the debt now. More importantly, we should take action now. And the only action that U.S. citizens can take today is to choose America with our spending. We cannot wait to do something about it until November when our votes have been casted. Buying USA Made items over foreign made items can help the current debt and economy immensely. If every American citizen bought $50 worth of USA Made goods in a year, it would create up to $15.7 billion in revenue.

Senator Rob Portman, R-Ohio, said yesterday, “This debt will not only be a liability for our kids and grandkids, but economists also tell us that it will limit economic growth and kill millions of jobs now and in the future.”

Think of what we can do for our kids and grandkids by spending our money here. $15.7 billion a year can create thousands of jobs for our future generations. That is only $50 a year. Think if we spent hundreds of dollars a year on American Made essential items such as groceries and clothing. We can make a difference just by choosing what we buy. We can create jobs and benefit the economy every day as consumers. We can keep businesses thriving here in America!  There are 16 trillion reasons to prove that we can make a difference.
